QuailWORK

For Participants

Work that
matters to you.
Support that fits.

Explore the work you want to do, prepare for an opportunity, and talk about support that could help you learn and succeed.

Quail’s initial employment pathway is for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

You can reach out yourself or ask someone you trust to help.

Find your starting point

You do not need to have it all figured out.

You may know the work you want to do, want to try something different, or need help deciding where to start.

I want to work.

Talk about your interests, work preferences, and possible opportunities.

I want help getting ready.

Explore preparation and the support that may be useful.

I have a job and need help.

Discuss what is happening and what an appropriate next step could be.

Practical support

What could support look like?

Support should relate to what you want to do and what would help.

  • Explore work that interests you.
  • Prepare for an interview or first day.
  • Learn workplace tasks and routines.
  • Ask questions and communicate at work.
  • Work through challenges.
  • Review what is going well and what you want next.

How it works

One step at a time.

  1. 1

    Explore

Tell us about your interests and what you would like help with.

  2. 2

    Connect

Discuss possible opportunities and the people who may be involved.

  3. 3

    Prepare

Understand the work, support, and requirements before deciding on the next step.

  4. 4

    Support

Receive the agreed help through the identified provider.

  5. 5

    Review

Talk about how things are going and what you want to do next.

An initial conversation does not mean you have agreed to a job or a particular service.

Your say

Your goals. Your questions. Your say.

  • Ask questions before deciding.
  • Say what interests you and what does not.
  • Discuss what helps you learn or communicate.
  • Involve someone you trust.
  • Raise concerns or ask about a different next step.

Your choice stays yours.

We explain who would provide each service. You do not need to use every Quail service to explore an opportunity.

Quail Job Coaching is a proposed service where available and authorized. It is not required to start a conversation.

Work guides · Illustrative concept

Prepare in a way that works for you.

Work guides are intended to make tasks and next steps easier to understand. They support learning and conversations with the people helping you.

Guide availability is to be confirmed. This is an illustrative concept only — not a current product feature.

Common questions

A little clarity before we talk.

A few useful answers before we talk.

Do I need to know what job I want?
No. You can begin by talking about your interests, questions, or what you are unsure about.
Can someone help me contact Quail?
Yes. You can ask a family member or someone you trust to help. Your interests and preferences should remain central.
Do I need a referral before contacting you?
You can contact Quail to ask about the process. Receiving a service may require a referral, planning, or approval. We explain the relevant next steps.
Who would provide my support?
Support may be provided by an approved partner or Quail Job Coaching where available and authorized. We explain the proposed arrangement before you decide.
Will I get paid?
The pay and conditions of a work opportunity should be explained before you accept it. Contacting Quail does not guarantee a job or a paid placement.
What if I have questions about work and my benefits?
Tell us you have a benefits question so the appropriate next step can be discussed. Do not assume your benefits will stay the same.

Let’s talk about what you want to explore.

Tell us a little about what you are looking for. You do not need to share your full story or private records to begin.
